Different Strokes ~ Ayomide

The issue of comparison seems to be amongst the top trends in the society today

Ranging from who has the best career, what car do you drive, who is your father, where do you stay….

Even those who seem to have it all, still compare themselves…it’s crazy

You see COUPLES who can’t afford 3 square meal struggling to give birth to their child abroad because xyz had theirs abroad, or soon-to-be newly weds planning a fairy tale wedding because abc’s wedding was the talk of the town and so should theirs.

I wonder how many people keep this scripture in their minds (I hope you do remember that out of the heart flows the issues of life):

No test or temptation that comes your way is beyond the course of what others have had to face. All you need to remember is that God will never let you down; he’ll never let you be pushed past your limit; he’ll always be there to help you come through it (1 Corinthians 10:13 MSG).

This proves that God sees each of us in a unique way.

He says He’d never let us be pushed past our (individual) limit. So do not compare yourself or situation with that of another’s.

Abraham waited for many years before he had Isaac. Jacob didn’t have to wait before having children with Leah, but Rachael had to wait.

So you see, there are different strokes for different folks.

So because you’ve had to go for 10 interviews before getting a job and someone else didn’t have to wait for a day after graduating before getting a job doesn’t make you less loved by God.

Everything has its own time, and there is a specific time for every activity under heaven: (Ecclesiastes 3:1 GW).

It might be raining today, be rest assured that the sun shine would tomorrow. JUST BELIEVE

Each season of life comes in phases. So you could be at the beginning of a phase, in-between or at the finish line

So chill for your time

Blessed are those who endure when they are tested. When they pass the test, they will receive the crown of life that God has promised to those who love him (James 1:12 GW).

Say after me:

And that’s on period. The only person you should be comparing yourself to is the person you were yesterday. So instead of looking around at what people are accomplishing, look in the mirror instead because that’s your only competition.

Thanks Ayomide, and have a great week guys.

See you tomorrow
