KNOCK’EM OFF – CHISOM

Good morning!!!!!

How was your weekend?

Mine was one of a kind.
Very busy, yet very impactful.
It was MANUAL CONFERENCE 2022 weekend and guysss, there are barely any words to describe the experience.

Saturday, Day 1, we got to listen to the richest woman in Africa and the second richest woman in the world, Apostle Folorunsho Alakija, share her story

.

Oh, yes, what I’m trying to say is, I was in the same room with the richest woman in Africa, so please going forward, if you must speak to me, put some respeck to my name. Thanks.

Well, I thought I had the greatest moment until DAY 2.

Nooooo, what hit me yesterday was different.
and I’ll dedicate a whole blog post to it.

The MD/CEO of FCMB, Mrs Yemisi Edun left no crumbs. Ladies (and gentlemen), women are a powerhouse. Whaat?!
No, let me save this particular gist of how I was dragged yesterday for another Monday.

Today, I’ll share some gems I got from Apostle Folorunsho Alakija.
I mean, if the richest woman in Africa defines SUCCESS to you, you better use correction fluid and clean what’s in your Mariam Webster dictionary then replace it with hers.

She showed us a roadmap to success using the letters of the very word. S. U. C. C. E. S. S and the word of God shone light on her points for me.

I’ll share.

S – Seek God Always, at all times.

Trust God from the bottom of your heart; don’t try to figure out everything on your own. Listen for God’s voice in everything you do, everywhere you go; he’s the one who will keep you on track. Don’t assume that you know it all. Run to God! Run from evil! Your body will glow with health, your very bones will vibrate with life!
Proverbs 3:5‭-‬6 MSG

U – Utilize your time and talent wisely. Time lost cannot be regained.

Don’t waste your time on useless work, mere busywork, the barren pursuits of darkness. So watch your step. Use your head. Make the most of every chance you get. These are desperate times!
Ephesians 5:11‭, 16 MSG

C- Consistently focus on your goals. Don’t be distracted. Set short term and Long term goals.

I am like a runner who wants to reach the end of the race. I run straight towards that point, so that I can win God’s gift.
Philippians 3:14 EASY

And then God answered: “Write this. Write what you see. Write it out in big block letters so that it can be read on the run.
Habakkuk 2:2‭ MSG

Keep your eyes straight ahead; ignore all sideshow distractions. Watch your step, and the road will stretch out smooth before you. Look neither right nor left; leave evil in the dust.
Proverbs 4: 27 MSG

C- Continually ensure you are a reliable person. A dependable and honest person.

Don’t talk out of both sides of your mouth; avoid careless banter, white lies, and gossip.
Proverbs 4:24 MSG

E-Educate yourself. Train yourself.. If you have to go back to class, go back to class.

Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed.
2 Timothy 2:15 KJV

S- Say Nay to Nay Sayers. Those who want beat you down, limit you and invalidate your dreams.

One day, Joseph told his brothers what he had dreamed, and they hated him even more. Joseph said, “Let me tell you about my dream. We were out in the field, tying up bundles of wheat. Suddenly my bundle stood up, and your bundles gathered around and bowed down to it.” His brothers asked, “Do you really think you are going to be king and rule over us?” Now they hated Joseph more than ever because of what he had said about his dream. Joseph later had another dream, and he told his brothers, “Listen to what else I dreamed. The sun, the moon, and eleven stars bowed down to me.”
Genesis 37:5‭-‬9 CEV

This Joseph just didn’t know when to stop. Be like Joseph. Don’t stop dreaming because they hate you or because you don’t want to bruise their ego.

S- Stay on God’s word.

Always remember what is written in that book of law. Speak about that book and study it day and night. Then you can be sure to obey what is written there. If you do this, you will be wise and successful in everything you do.
Joshua 1:8 ERV

And with these, I hope ladies, that we have some spring to our step.

Let’s knock those goals off this week shall we?

PS: Were you at the conference(Online or In-person)? What screamed at you? Share.

  1. What a word , I have still not recovered!! But I was not just excited by the word, I embraced it , I will continue to meditate on it , so that seed can grow (tell me you listened to the podcast without telling me you listened to BBB😜) … such an amazing weekend but I don’t care what you say Chisom , I was in that room by virtue of the spirit and we know there is no distance in that realm 😂😂😂😂, so respect ✊!!!

  2. Isn’t it amazing how the first letter had to start with seeking God? Sometimes we totally ignore God and just go ahead with our plans, but the truth is we cannot put God aside, He’s the center of everything.

  7. I’m reminded of Mrs Edun’s stories. Working so hard, speaking up such that when she got back from her maternity leave, her promotion was waiting for her. Furthermore, she went on pass her training course in South Africa even when 4 other men had failed. God no go shame us. Thanks Chisom

  8. I was at the mainland on Sunday and listening to Mrs.Yemisi Edun speak was amazing. She’s such a vibe. She used the acronym PHD’s and there’s so much sync with what you equally shared here. She emphasised Honesty, prayer, praise, diligence, hard work, having a support system and refusing to keep quiet when we can Speak Up. Reading this just gave me the inspiration to dust my notes and write a blogpost on all I learnt
