The weekend is here! 💃💃
Growing up Saturdays was known for Cleaning, Market day, and cooking. It was like an unspoken rule! In my house it was law! You wake up, sweep, dust and clean,
And then there were market days, If only it was as fun and pretty as this picture below 😂😂😂
I remembered when I was much younger and I had to always follow my mum to the market… being the only girl I had no choice. My mum was determined to make sure I didn’t grow up being a spoilt child. So some Saturdays we would go to Mile 1 market, Mile 3, Borokiri market (I grew up in Port Harcourt, my PH peeps would relate) all in one day, just to get it at the cheapest rates possible. And there was Oil mill market that opened only on Wednesdays, and you have to get there very early just when the market opens. Let me not even get started with her pricing skills. She’s a Legend.
But yeah even though this started years ago, it’s still almost the same today, and I’m sure a lot of you can relate. Saturdays are for stocking up the house with food for the week, some of us even stock up for the month, and for some of us saturdays are for weddings…. lol
However on Saturday, some of us try our best to focus on making sure we buy everything we need at home.
So today we have a guest writer (Yippee another guest writer!! Whoop!! Lol) who is going to give us tips on markets in lagos to get certain food stuffs at cheap rates. Christmas is here and we know prices have escalated! However at these places they are still relatively cheaper.
Our writer is a Caterer, an amazing human all round! You need to taste her small chops, my God!! Shes a great cook, has a big heart, loves the Lord, a mum of two beautuful daughters, she’s the CEO of blessed events solutions.
I do most of my shopping from mile 12 market
But if am cooking for home consumption or small gathering, I do all my buying from Oyingbo market.
There you have it ladies! All the tips to stock up the house this season.. Do you know other places where we can buy food stuffs at cheap rates in lagos, or the city where you live? Drop a comment below… you might just be helping a sister out 🙄.
See you soon
