Day 4: Jesus’ Party! 💃🏾

Hey ladies!

Hope you had a great weekend! I had a fabulous Time!!! We had Excellence Awards in church, it’s an annual event we have to appreciate people that have done excellently well through out the year.. And the theme this year was “Royal African”… everyone looked Amazing 😍😍.. Na you know this gist needs to have its own post.. cos today we’re here for something else.

Today we have a guest writer!!

She’s someone we absolutely adore at JustUsGirls.. she’s enthusiastic, energetic and so much more! She has an amazing heart, she’s a Mum, a fitness instructor, has written books and devotionals and has her own app!! like I literally don’t know how she balances all these in her life.

She’s no other than Coach E’

Find her post below

You see, my home help is really annoying. Let me explain…

She doesn’t take milk and that pretty much strikes out a gazillion things from her eating list. I won’t even mention the fact that she doesn’t also eat plantain.

Recently, it was her birthday and we were like ‘What do you want us to buy?” Cake, ice-cream, she no gree. If you were to take her to a banquet filled with the BEST of TREATS, she will ‘fall your hand’.

But that aside, she is literally a HELP FROM ABOVE!!! Praise God (Had to throw that in Mama cos you prayed that MY HELP would come from GOD)

Christmas is somewhat like a feast/banquet, I would imagine. Everywhere we turn in this season is full of F-O-O-D!!! You would really be a party pooper and a bummer to come to a feast and tell your host…

I don’t eat X, I don’t eat Y, I am on a diet, I am watching my weight, etx etx Especially if this host throws this kinda party JUST ONCE A YEAR!!! I particularly love this Scripture….

On this mountain the Lord Almighty will prepare a feast of rich food for all peoples- a banquet of the finest foods, vintage/aged wine— the best of meats, a feast of SEVEN COURSES, lavish with gourmet desserts, and the finest of wines.Isa 25v6 E’s MIX version I know it is not a Christmas one but it somewhat reminds me of how LAVISH God can get. SEVEN COURSE WHATTTT?!?!?! He’s like THROWING IT DOWN!!! He doesn’t even do half measures when it comes to party-ing and food. And with Christmas being His birthday and err’thang, I’m thinking FOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOD should truly play a HUGE part. Because a lot of times, we treat food like it is the ENEMY and I am sure some of you reading actually thought I was coming with my long list of DON’T EAT THIS and THAT and so on.

Now is a good time to introduce myself…

My name is Eziaha Bolaji-Olojo, a wife, a mom of 2boys, and among many more things, a Christian Food&Fitness Coach (including a Pre and Post-Natal Fitness Specialist)

Ok I was saying…

In fact, I HATE that a lot of people see me and then they immediately think of so many rules and regulations per food. At the time of writing this, I am inviting a few of my friends to my baby dedication and one of them said HOPE THERE WILL BE CORRECT FOOD ooo cos NOBODY IS DOING FITFAM with me, and I’m like REALLY?

But seriously though, I really hate that GUILT is an emotion that satan brings when it comes to food with MOST of us, meanwhile we can have a REAL GOOD relationship with food – banquets and all. Hopefully, this post helps you achieve that…

Now that we have some theology for why Christmas and Food are synonymous, we can now delve into the rules of the party our Jesus is hosting…

I will just share THREE things…

1. BE WELL BALANCED… If there is one way the enemy steals into our lives, it is when we lose control and tip into being excessive and are without control. I recall on my honeymoon, I was in a new place with new AN PLENTY food, and while hubby was having fun trying new things BUT WITH CAUTION/WISDOM, guess who was eating it all WITHOUT CONTROL? Guess who would also end up with a bad, nay TERRIBLE tummy bug, complete with stooling and vomiting? Not my husband!!! You see, nobody is saying don’t enjoy the delicacies, please enjoy them, but not like someone who just escaped from prison and then heard the world would be running out of food in a couple of days. Seriously, if JESUS was physically present at every time you had to eat, would you eat the way you eat? If yes, feast away baby, and if no, ADJUST.

It is HIS Party and you don’t want the HOST looking at you one kain. Even worse, Jesus doesn’t want you to end up with any kind of food-related sickness

Or a tummy bug.

Or drunk.

2. ACKNOWLEDGE THE CELEBRANT I mean, how would you feel if someone came to your party and didn’t say anything to you, instead just started eating your food anyhow? Imagine if you even tried to get their attention and they were still ignoring you? You probably would have your bouncers throw them out, but thank God Jesus is not like us. He doesn’t even have bouncers because EVERYONE IS INVITED TO HIS PARTY, but because we are reasonable Guests and we LOVE the Host, WE WILL ACKNOWLEDGE HIM. We will LET Him speak to our hearts, listen to him, applaud, honor him, etx.

Even when we speak, we will talk a whole lot about Him. The best kinda parties for me are those where everything is centered around the celebrant… the games, the speeches, the refreshment, the prayers, etx. I LOVE being the center of attention and it makes me happy when at my own party, EVERYONE is making the effort to make me feel super-duper extra special, telling me how AMAZING I am, stuff I have done for them which I may have even forgotten or downplayed its importance in their lives, doing things that would make me happy and DELIBERATELY shunning things that would upset me, or my party and my guests. Oh and if I DIED FOR THEIR SINS and DELIVERED THEM FROM ETERNAL DESTRUCTION, they had BETTER make me the topic of discussion at their table!!!

What I am really trying to say is that in this season, even with all the food around, we must not forget that IT IS ALL ABOUT HIM even WHEN we eat and drink. We are NOT going to BOW DOWN AND WORSHIP Food and Drinks, we will BOW DOWN AND WORSHIP HIM and this means you won’t be eating ANYHOW!!!

Cue Bishop Morton’s BOW DOWN AND WORSHIP HIM and fall to your knees right away baby…

Bishop Morton; Bow down and worship You better make HIM a HUGE part of all your conversations over food and drinks. GIST about HIM while you eat (in portions that won’t make Him cringe btw).

It is HIS party after all.

3. COME BEARING GIFTS Ah, who wants to throw a banquet and have everyone turn up BUT WITHOUT GIFTS? Haba!!! Dunno about yawl but whenever I host ANYTHING, I EXPECT people to bring me gifts. Even better when my Guests ring me to ask WHAT exactly I would want, or sneak behind my back and ask my friends or family what they think would make sense for me in this season. Well, let me be the One who is doing the sneaking and just tell you ONE THING I am sure Jesus would want as gifts…

Heb. 13 v 6 is a good one from the MANY ‘snitching’ verses that give us an idea what gifts would make Jesus happy…

And don’t forget to do good and to share with those in need. These are the sacrifices that please God… I love the AMPC version

Do not forget or neglect to do kindness and good, to be generous and distribute and contribute to the needy [of the church [k]as embodiment and proof of fellowship], for such sacrifices are pleasing to God. But if is Eugene Peterson that takes the cake (pun intended) on this…

…share what you have with others. God takes particular pleasure in acts of worship—a different kind of “sacrifice”—that take place in kitchen and workplace and on the streets You see that… KITCHEN (Essentially your home… think security man, home helps, etx), WORKPLACE (think Cleaners, Security men, Errand people, Single Moms, etx) and on the STREETS (think Beggars, Homeless, Agberos etx). The Message pretty much gets it all together for us!!!

While this banquet is for EVERYONE, for some reason or another, there are some who cannot participate in this banquet. Extend HIS Banquet to them in your own way. Be the hands and feet (and PLATES and FORKS) of Jesus.

Don’t eat it all and then add all the weight.

Remember those who do not have and share with them. I am increasingly amazed as to how JUST A LITTLE can go a long way in the life of MANY. The LITTLE that you wouldn’t even miss.

And while extending food, feel free to throw in cash and other material stuff too.

Let’s empower people everywhere to throw their own JESUS BANQUETS too, even long after CHRISTMAS is over….

It would make JESUS, THE CELEBRANT, oh-so-happy!!!

And hey, if you need some help moving those extra pounds and kilograms after the holidays, we gotcha at CoachE’Squad… Have a Happy and Healthy Holiday and Merry Christmas in advance

And thank you SO MUCH mama and Kemi for having me… And if there are JESUS Banquets happening at your end, I can come with my Squad…
