After Herod Died…

Hey people

My God!!! It’s been ages 😁

I’ve missed you guys but then again life just happens. You suddenly realize that your assignments in destiny increase and prioritizing becomes necessary. And as much as I love you guys blogging everyday was a luxury I just couldn’t afford sadly.

I find that I’ve been fulfilling more of my pastoral role than my writing or blogging role. Do I miss writing as much? Yes definitely but it’s important that I recognize and acknowledge the different seasons of my life and walk in them accordingly.

But now I have some good news though I feel a release to go head on 30 days in the month of August so where are my usual cheerleaders? Pom poms out? 😂😂

I’m excited about this because it will literally push my limits. My life won’t get any less busy and I will need to make some major sacrifices but I feel the need to do this. I really want to pour out my heart and share with you some of the amazing lessons God has been teaching me but I’m sure some of those 30 days will just be me sharing some of the things I’m most thankful for like my family, the new relationships God has blessed me with and sometimes probably just sharing how my day went with the hope that something inspires or challenges you.

So yesterday I woke up with this phrase actually ringing in my heart and I believe it’s a word for someone out there.

After Herod died, an angel of the Lord appeared in a dream to Joseph in Egypt and said, “Get up, take the child and his mother and go to the land of Israel, for those who were trying to take the child’s life are dead.” –Matthew 2:18-19

For those of you who don’t know this story I feel like I need to give you a background to this so you can get a full sense of where I’m going with this.

So this is how it all started young Mary was faced with an impossible situation; a pregnancy she couldn’t explain and didn’t fully understand.

Thankfully God had sent her an amazing man in Joseph to stand by her. Thankfully also he was a man given to hearing  God so it made their lives a bit easier but not less dramatic nonetheless. By the time this particular verse of scripture had come into play they had overcome a long torturous journey in the desert with a very heavy Mary in tow

then of course after all that stress she goes into labour and of course because when it rains it pours she finds no room to birth her “miracle gift” except an unsanitary manger.

After she goes through all of these many obstacles she finally brings forth the gift God has given her for the world.

One would think that from this point on it would be celebrations galore right?

After all, angels are going all over the place announcing his birth and putting stars in the sky and organizing orchestras … I mean it must have been peak period in heaven guys!

Event planning angels…. decor angels…. music angels… ushers…. just name it guys. It must have been FULL groove!!! Everyone should have been in celebration mode right? Wrong!!!
Herod was not…

and at this point I need you to understand that when I say Herod I don’t just mean one man known as Herod “the great” who was a terror in the days when Christ was born.

  • sometimes Herod represents the person who is the “star” reference for where you are going or in what God has called you to do.
  • Herod is the person in authority who should protect your gift but is intimidated by it.
  • Herod represents the past that is cocky enough to think it will remain your future.
  • Herod is an agent of Satan (whether they agree or not). It is that person or thing that wants to manipulate your gift by making you and the people around you feel like they are on your side but you know deep down inside you that it’s just a disguise in order for them to get close enough to kill your dream.  You know deep in your heart that God is saying to you like He said to Joseph

“Get up,” he said, “take the child and his mother and escape to Egypt. Stay there until I tell you, for Herod is going to search for the child to kill him.” –Matthew 2:

I recognize that God put you and your dream in a season of hiding. He said take the child (the gift, the book, the ministry, the pregnancy, the relationship, the idea) and the mother (the primary source and sustenance for that thing – usually the word you got on the issue) and escape to Egypt (hmmm…. some people are resigning and some are breaking relationships or do I sense a social media hiatus? 😄) because Herod seeks after the life of that child.

Whatever it is you know God asked you to keep it under wraps for a season. Was that enough for Herod? Oh no!!! Herod will now be clawing blindly and lashing  out in frustration while you on the other hand are safe in hiding and God is building your capacity and your “baby” is growing daily – the vision is getting clearer, the relationship is getting stronger, the pregnancy is advancing. All these are good but being in hiding can still be hard….

You feel like you are ready…. God says Wait!

You feel like you have it all covered… God says Wait!

You feel like you are so in love, so in tune, you should get married ASAP…. God says Wait! Wait! Wait!!!! ….and while you are waiting throw in some pre-marital counselling

It can truly be frustrating but God says Wait!!!

Why? Because any sudden movements when in hiding can alert Herod.

But today, I have a special announcement …

And this is what the Spirit of God is saying …. it’s NOW time.

“Arise and take the young child and his mother, and go into the land of Israel: for they are dead that sought the young child’s life.” – Matthew‬ ‭2:20‬ ‭ASV‬‬

It’s a new season folks. Every dream killer is dead. Its time to do what God has been preparing you for all along. And it’s not just doing it but doing it on a grand scale. He says …go into Israel. Take it to where people can see you. No holds barred … ARISE!

Before I sign off on this God just laid it on my heart to say this to some one ….

Don’t get too familiar with hiding that it becomes uncomfortable for you to step out into the lime light. Your hiding was for a season – for God to train you, give you clarity and protect the assignment. It’s just your passing through phase. Do Not make it your permanent abode.

You must understand that God is not interested in humiliating or belittling you but if he doesn’t take you away and prepare you and allow you develop in the dark room once you hit the light you will self destruct rather than developing into a beautiful reflection of our Jesus.

Also the idea is not to make you suspicious of everyone thinking they are herods. Herod can NEVER harm you because he’s up against God and anything or anyone that comes up against God or his anointed must fall.

So rest in that honey and ARISE ….

I honestly hope this helps someone and that in the midst of all these my musings you get your word accurately.

I will be back August 1st for the next 30 days and I hope you will too. If this blesses you then please by all means tell someone else. Throughout the month of August you will get all the regulars

Thankful Tuesdays.

Wednesdays are for wives

TTC Thursdays for those trusting God for babies.

And probably even a few Saturdays are for singles … or Monday motivations.

you know what, lets just see how this goes … whatever the Holy Spirit  says … I am the hand maiden of the Lord 😁

One thing you can be sure of is every single day there will always be something new here for you …

See how much I love you?

Okay guys I’m on a tennhour road trip so I actually got a chance to do this. Now I’m done let me look at the scenery …, or any ideas on what else to do?

Bye darlings
