If I didn’t know better I’d say she jumped into my head and wrote this through me. Kemi you sound just like me 😂😂😂. She did an amazing job though. I’m back tomorrow with more stuff to keep you in the Christmas mood and possibly a word from God. Not letting too much out of the bag. Need you guessing and coming back for more
Enjoy guys. Much love …
I’m so excited about this season!!!
I’m actually doing a countdown lol, and it kinda feels like I’m gonna sleep and wake up and it would be Christmas morning.. even though it’s still like 22days, 6hours and 27minutes away.. Told you I was counting down Lol..
One thing I absolutely love about Christmas is decorating the Christmas tree, not the actual work of putting the tree together.. I don’t think any one really looks forward to hard Labour like that especially when it’s a 7feet tall tree like we have in my house.. Lol. But actually beautifying the tree and making it look pretty!
So I’m gonna take you through a few tips on how to decorate your tree this Christmas..
1) Try a white tree
Spice things up this Christmas by using a white tree instead of the traditional green tree..
However some of us love colours and would love to see it everywhere, plus what’s going to happen to all the ones we’ve been keeping over the years, bring that box out, clean those ornaments and get ready to hang them..
Look at those colours!! 😍 it looks like a candy store.. lol..
Now my absolute favorite way to decorate a white tree is to use white and silver ornaments and decorations…
With a tree like this on Christmas Day all that’s left is for snow to fall outside my window (or for the harmattan to just begin already, the weather is so hot!) and I sit down with a book and cup of cocoa and have a White Christmas..
Speaking of White Christmas that’s the theme for our carol night in DCC this year! Whoop! 💃🏾 Everyone dressed in white, the choir dressed in robes singing all the classic Christmas songs you know with guests like Eric Arubayi, PITA, our very own PC, Palmira and much more.. Let me just stop here because I could go on and on..
2) Break the Rules
There’s no rule saying you can’t put whatever you think looks good or whatever you like on your tree..
Like I absolutely love pictures, creating the pictures than being in front of the camera.. but all things pictures.. imagine stringing up old throwback pictures and putting them up, would be an interesting sight, and for some people serious entertainment just having to look through the pictures..
Or a tree made out of pictures pasted on a wall.. Yup, you heard that right..
And if you’re a book lover like I am, you could actually have a tree made with books.. I think I’m gonna start a petition and have all my fellow book lovers sign this into law.. Who’s with me?! I’m going to have to try this one out myself, and have it in my room.. my very own book tree..
You can also use ribbons on your tree..
You can put vintage items on your tree, like your grandmum’s pearls, a piece of cloth from a loved on.. you can wrap that around the tree..
Or better still cut up shapes out of an Ankara material string it up and hang it round the tree, add beads, and anything that you think looks African, and have your own African looking tree.. I hope someone actually gets to try this out.. Trends come and go, so put things you like on your tree, and make it your own style..
And Oh! Make sure to send in pictures of how you decorated your tree this Christmas, would love to see them.. and would post on all our social media pages 😁.
There is no Christmas without lights!!
Use all the lights you wants!! Lights, lights, lights.. However don’t over do it tho, but wait it’s Christmas I give you permission to go overboard, you can’t have too much light on your tree if you think about it.. lol..
You can use white lights
Or Coloured lights..
Could also try lights of different shapes and sizes…
Last tip: The size of a tree doesn’t really matter.. Get whatever size you feel comfortable with, or whatever size fits into your home, and go crazy decorating that tree!
So that’s it everyone..
Don’t forget to send in your pictures, post it in the comment section, tag us on Instagram and Facebook..
